I have many prized possessions, but one that stands out in my mind is a glass Coca-Cola bottle filled with sand. This may not seem special to most people, but what makes it special to me is how I came into possession of this item. It was my very last Spring Break of High School and I was on a trip to Spain. One day, as we were touring the southern coast of this magnificent country, I had the opportunity to travel across the Strait of Gibraltar and visit Morocco. I had an incredible time doing this excursion, and so I wanted something to remind of it. We stopped for lunch and I bought a Coke. It came in a glass bottle with a label written in Arabic. Later that day, wandering around the beaches of southern Spain with an empty Coca-Cola bottle, I decided to fill it with sand from the beach. This is the beginning of my glass Coca-Cola bottle filled with sand. Every time I see this bottle, I am reminded of the best Spring Break and the best trip of my life.
We are moving to Chi-Town! I am going to be teaching high school English with Teach For America and Nate is going to be attending Illinois Institute of Technology to get his Masters in Architecture.
